Vaccination Record
Parents of young children usually keep a paper record of their children's vaccinations,
but there are a couple of problems with that. For one thing keeping the paper record
updated is a bit of a chore, but even if that has been done carefully, one cannot
take the paper record of every child everywhere. iPhone and iPod Touch are devices
that are uniquely suited for this task. Not only is the record immediately available
when needed, it is also next to your fingertips when you want to update the information,
like in the pediatrician's office. There you can ask the doctor or the nurse
precisely which dose of which vaccine(s) was given, and update the record with confidence.
Heck the doctor's staff may even volunteer to do this for you, after all, it
is a lot more fun working with the iPhone than scribbling some dates on a dog-eared
paper record.
It is also possible for you to generte a paper record of each family member's
vaccinations. You can simply ask the App to email it to you and then print that
email to get a permanent record.
The schedules in the App are based on the CDC's current recomendations and include
Hepatitis B, Rota, DTap, Hib, IPV, PCV, MMR, Chicken Pox, Td, HPV and Flu shot vaccines.
But if there are other vaccines being prescribed in your country, you can easily
add those to the schedule.
